Are adult sleepovers a thing? If not, we need to make it one. I loved having a good sleepover with my friends and cousins growing up. I truly wish I could go back to those days, because, listen, ADULTING sucks .I need a carefree night eating junk food and watching movies until the sun comes up. BUT, that’s not what you are here for, now is it? (Excuse me, it’s been a day). So, back to the subject matter at hand: Sleepover Activities for 12-year-olds. Here they are:
Paint & Sip
Grab some cheap canvases, some paint, and virgin drinks and have at it! This is a great sleepover activity because it’s creative, gets everyone talking, and the kiddos can take their artwork home with them at the end of the night.
DIY Jewelry Making
A sleepover is the perfect opportunity to break out the beads and make some beautiful (or silly) jewelry. This is a great activity for kids who are into fashion or crafting.
Create Mini Dream Catchers
These are so easy and fun to make, and they look really cool hanging in a bedroom or over a bed. All you need are some hoops, some string, and some beads and feathers, and you’re good to go!
Blindfolded Makeover
This one is always good for a laugh. Blindfold each girl, and have them do each other’s makeup. Hilarity is sure to ensue.
Manicure/Pedicure/DIY Spa
These activities are the perfect way to relax and unwind, and they also make great party favors. Set up a little station with facial masks, foot soaks, nail polish, cuticle cream, and nail files. Add some cucumber water for a little pizazz,, The girls can do each other’s nails and take home their new manicure/pedicure.
Photo Booth & DIY Frames
This sleepover activity is two-fold. First, set up a little photo booth area with props and backdrops. Then, have the girls make their own picture frames to put their photos in.
Pillow Fight
A sleepover classic! Get the pillows off the beds and have a free-for-all pillow fight. This is a great way to get everyone’s energy out before bedtime.
Talent Show
What better way to show off your sleepover guests’ talents than with a talent show? Encourage everyone to come up with an act, whether it’s singing, dancing, stand-up comedy, or magic tricks.
Cupcake Decorating Contest
Get some plain cupcakes and some icing and let the girls go to town. They can use whatever decorations they want, and the best part is that they get to eat their creations afterwards.
Movie Marathon
Pick out a few of your favorite movies (or let everyone vote) and have a movie marathon. Pop some popcorn, make some snacks, and settle in for a night of fun.
S’mores Bar
You can never go wrong with s’mores. Set up a toppings bar with all the fixings – chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers, peanut butter, sprinkles, etc. – and let everyone make their own custom s’more.
Play Games
Of course, no sleepover would be complete without some good old-fashioned games.
- Truth or Dare
- Twister
- Clue
- Charades
- Pictionary Scavenger Hunt
- The Floor Is Lava
- 20 Questions
- Limbo
These are just a few ideas for sleepover activities for 12-year-olds. With a little creativity, you can come up with all sorts of fun things for the girls to do. Just remember to make sure everyone is safe and has a good time. Sweet dreams!
