The Pentagon Wars (1998)
The Pentagon Wars is a comedy about the U.S. Department of Defense and their efforts to develop a new missile system. The film follows Colonel Jack Kem (played by Kelsey Grammer) as he tries to navigate the bureaucracy of the Pentagon and get the new missile system approved. Along the way, Kem has to deal with corrupt politicians, incompetent generals, and a whole host of other problems. Broken Arrow (1996)
Air Force pilots Vic Deakins and Riley Hale are sent on an overnight top-secret mission carrying two nuclear weapons. However, after they’re airborne, Deakins changes the plan–he tries to kill Hale then steal the weapons to sell them to terrorists. But Hale survives the crash and meets up with park ranger Terry Carmichael. Together they try to stop Deakins’ plan.
Good Kill (2014)
Good Kill is a thriller about an Air Force drone operator (played by Ethan Hawke) who is struggling with the ethical implications of his job. The film follows him as he carries out missions in Afghanistan from the safety of an air-conditioned trailer in the Nevada desert. But as the war drags on, and the death toll mounts, the drone operator begins to question the morality of his work. Good Kill is a thought-provoking film that will leave you questioning the use of military force in the modern world.
A Gathering of Eagles (1963)
A Gathering of Eagles is a drama about the air force during the Cold War. The film follows Colonel Jim Caldwell (played by Rock Hudson) as he takes command of an air force base in Germany. Caldwell is a no-nonsense leader who is determined to keep his base running smoothly. However, he soon discovers that there is more to life than just work. Caldwell must also deal with the politics of the Cold War, as well as the personal lives of his airmen.
The Last Starfighter (1984)
The Last Starfighter is a science fiction film about a teenage boy who is recruited by an alien race to help them fight a war. The boy, Alex Rogan (played by Lance Guest), is a video game champion, and he uses his skills to pilot a spacecraft in the battle against the aliens.
Firefox (1982)
Mitchell Gant (Clint Eastwood) is an experienced American pilot who is recruited for a top-secret mission to steal a high-tech Russian fighter plane known as “Firefox.” He covertly enters the Soviet Union, and receives help from dissidents within the country, most notably a group of scientists who have been working on the plane. As Gant reaches his goal of stealing the aircraft, enemy pilots are quick to follow, leading to a sequence of thrilling dogfights as he attempts to escape Soviet jets.
Stargate (1994)
Stargate is an action-packed sci-fi movie about a team of soldiers and archaeologists who use a mysterious alien device to travel to another planet. The team is forced to battle the aliens who live on the planet, and they must find a way back to Earth before it’s too late.
Twelve O’Clock High (1949)
Twelve O’Clock High is a classic war film that follows the story of an American bomber group during World War II. The group is led by General Savage (played by Gregory Peck), who is a tough and demanding commander. Savage pushes his men to their limits, and they are constantly under attack from the German Luftwaffe. Despite the danger, the men are determined to complete their mission. Aloha (2015)
Aloha is a romantic comedy set in the world of the U.S. Air Force. The film follows Captain Steve Rogers (played by Bradley Cooper) as he falls for a beautiful air hostess named Allison Ng (played by Emma Stone). As their relationship starts to blossom, Rogers must deal with the news that he is being transferred to a new base in Hawaii. Air Force One (1997)
