Beyond The Lights [2014]
Beyond The Lights is a romantic drama starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nate Parker. The film follows a young woman who is trying to make it in the music industry. She falls in love with a man who is not her type, but she soon realizes that he may be exactly what she needs.
The Photograph [2020]
The Photograph is a romantic drama starring Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield. The film follows a woman as she tries to uncover the secrets of a mysterious photograph that belonged to her late mother.
Love Don’t Cost A Thing [2003]
The film follows the story of a high school nerd, Alvin Johnson (Nick Cannon), who dreams of becoming popular. To do so, he employs the services of Paris Morgan (Christina Milian), the most popular girl in school. She agrees to help him, but only for a fee.
Poetic Justice [1993]
Starring Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur, Poetic Justice is a film about a young woman who is struggling to deal with the death of her boyfriend. The film follows her as she tries to find love and justice in a world that seems so unfair.
Love Jones [1997]
Love Jones is a romantic drama starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate. The film follows a young couple as they try to navigate their way through a complicated relationship.
How Stella Got Her Groove Back [1998]
Stella is a middle-aged woman who is taking a trip to Jamaica. While there, she meets a younger man and they begin a steamy affair.

Save the Last Dance is a 2001 American romantic drama film. The film stars Julia Stiles as a teenage interracial couple in Chicago who work together to help the girl achieve her dream of becoming a professional ballerina.
Just Wright [2010]
Just Wright is a 2010 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Sanaa Hamri and starring Queen Latifah, Common, and Paula Patton. The plot follows Leslie Wright (Latifah), a physical therapist who falls in love with one of her patients, NBA All-Star Scott McKnight (Common).
When Scott is injured during the NBA playoffs, he is assigned to Leslie for physical therapy. The two quickly develop a mutual attraction, but when Scott’s ex-girlfriend Renee (Patton) returns and starts trying to win him back, Leslie begins to wonder if she can really trust Scott with her heart.
Love & Basketball [2000]
Love & Basketball is a 2000 American romantic drama film directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The film tells the story of Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) and Monica Wright (Sanaa Lathan), two next-door neighbors in Los Angeles, California who grow up together playing basketball and fall in love.
Deliver Us From Eva [2003]
Eva’s parents passed away many years ago, making her the guardian of her younger sisters. Unfortunately, Eva has a bad habit of inserting herself in her sisters’ affairs, which has not made their spouses and partners very happy. The men would like to close out the family trust fund that Eva oversees so they can split up the money between them. So they decide to hire ladies’ man Ray Adams (LL Cool J) to romance and distract Eva from her familial duties. Sparks fly between Ray and Eva … but things start to go wrong with their plan.
Something New [2006]
Something New is a romantic comedy starring Sanaa Lathan and Simon Baker. The film follows a black woman who falls in love with a white man, but she has to deal with the disapproval of her family and friends.
Phat Girlz [2000]
Phat Girlz is a Starring the hilarious Mo’Nique as Jazmin Biltmore, a smart-mouthed aspiring fashion designer, Phat Girlz is an edgy comedy about two frustrated plus-size women obsessed with their weight while struggling to find love and acceptance in a world full of skinny women.
Two Can Play That Game [2001]
In the movie Two Can Play That Game, Sherry (played by Vivica A. Fox) is a successful woman who seems to have it all together. She’s got a great job, a nice house, and a loving boyfriend, Keith (played by Morris Chestnut). But when she thinks Keith is seeing another woman, Sherry decides to use her powers of seduction to make him jealous and win him back.
The Wood [1999]
The Wood is a 1999 American coming-of-age film written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa, and starring Omar Epps, Taye Diggs, Richard T. Jones, and Sean Nelson. The film follows the story of three best friends in the inner city who go on a journey to discover themselves and bond over their shared experience of growing up in the hood.
Jason’s Lyric [1994]
Jason’s Lyric is a film about a young man who is trying to find his place in the world. The film follows him as he tries to find his way through life and love.
Hitch [2005]
Hitch is a 2005 American romantic comedy film directed by Andy Tennant and starring Will Smith. The film, which was written by Kevin Bisch, follows the story of Alex “Hitch” Hitchens (Smith), a professional “date doctor” who makes a living teaching men how to woo women.
Malcom and Marie [2021]
Starring Zendaya and John David Washington, Malcolm & Marie is a black-and-white film about a couple who are dealing with the aftermath of their relationship. The film explores love, loss, and what it means to be in a committed relationship.
